Bringing together notable local actors, directors, and playwrights, Triple Threat Enterprises (traveling theatre troupe) has big plans to “serve” up a robust menu of theatrical productions, including well-known classics, contemporary plays and new works.
The three principals, Tina Terrazas, Kim Carroll and Lisa Kelly, originally created the troupe to be a traveling ensemble, working with clients to choose the right performance for their unique event, party, meeting, or special occasion. This May, the troupe is thrilled to partner with the dramaworks/West End Theatre, performing “Motherhood Out loud”, which will feature a cast of talented Plumas County characters who share their stories of parenthood replete with joy, humor, angst and a dash of “oy vey!”
Plumas County is very fortunate to have multiple theatrical venues, however, Triple Threat, will also take the show on the road, delivering performances to your door, dining room table, meeting room or back yard! A list of services is presented in a menu format and includes: “appetizers” such as singing telegrams and monologs; “salads” – one act plays and school assemblies; “entrees” include mystery dinner theater and full themed productions and possibly a “dessert” which might feature slapstick or even popping out of a cake!
Based on clients’ requests, Triple Threat partners with a cadre of local talent, including singers and dancers, actors and tech support, musicians and playwrights. “We customize our menu items based on what is needed for each unique event.
Triple Threat Enterprises began over lunch when three creative gals started chatting about the number and variety of performances they’d been involved with, and how much joy and fulfillment it brought to their lives. According to Kim Carroll, Triple Threat Co-founder; “This past year was a rough one for theater, and due to the many dark stages, our eyes were opened even wider to the possibility of bringing theater to our audiences.” Kim has been involved in all aspects of production including directing, acting, stage management, and teaching, so theater is really in her soul.
Tina Terrazas, has been performing since 2008 when she moved to Quincy and starred in Durang Durang, a Dramaworks production. Since then, the two have been in over 100 productions combined. In one play alone, the duo played 25 characters each! Lisa Kelly is newer to theater, but loves the production end of entertainment, so it was a great fit for the three – thus the creation of Triple Threat Enterprises!
